Role Overview
Ackermans is looking for energetic, customer-focused individuals to join their team as P27 Shop Assistants/Cashiers during the peak trading period. The purpose of the P27 role is to enhance the shopping experience by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining well-merchandised shelves, and efficiently handling transactions.

Key Responsibilities
🛍️ Customer Service

Provide outstanding service to every customer who enters the store

Assist customers in locating products and responding to queries

Resolve complaints professionally or refer to management as needed
💳 Cashier Duties

Accurately process cash, credit card, and lay-by payments

Handle customer refunds and exchanges according to policy

Report discrepancies and assist in till balancing at shift end
🧾 Merchandising & Stock

Ensure shelves are well-stocked, clean, and properly priced

Replenish stock and maintain visual merchandising standards

Stay updated on promotions, sales, and new arrivals
🔐 Risk & Compliance

Tag products in line with store security policies

Participate in stock takes and report any discrepancies

Remain alert to shoplifting or suspicious activity, and report accordingly

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate

Fluent in English (knowledge of other South African languages is a plus)
Preferred Experience:

Previous experience as a retail cashier or shop assistant is beneficial but not required

Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures
