Role Purpose
The Marketing Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting Sasol’s Energy Marketing & Sales team. Key responsibilities include processing daily payments from Retailers, overseeing customer compliance with credit policies, managing customer contracts, and providing vital support to Account Managers during onboarding. The Marketing Assistant serves as a key liaison with customers, ensuring pricing and product information is current and customer inquiries are resolved efficiently. The role also involves managing sales records, coordinating fuel deliveries, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimize customer satisfaction and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and detailed sales records, including customer interactions, orders, and lead tracking

Compile comprehensive reports and updates for management, highlighting key sales activities and performance metrics

Provide after-sales support focused on customer retention and enhancing the overall customer experience

Manage customer queries and ensure timely resolution

Coordinate fuel deliveries to meet customer demand and prevent stockouts, especially at high-volume sites

Liaise closely with Logistics Control Centres (LCC) and Regional Account Managers (RAM) for smooth operations

Collaborate across departments such as Operations, Logistics, Key Account Management, Procurement, and Finance to ensure seamless order processing and superior customer service

Support the onboarding process for Retailers, promoting Sasol’s FuelEasy Program and its benefits

Maintain the Fuel Management System (FMS) site list, ensuring site details such as parking, diesel pumps, and closures are accurate and up to date

Work closely with marketing teams to stay informed about promotional initiatives and new product launches
Formal Education and Experience
-
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is required
-
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in administrative or similar roles within marketing, sales, or customer service environments
