Position Overview
Ampath is currently recruiting for a Motorbike Driver who will be responsible for the safe, prompt, and professional transportation of medical specimens, reports, and parcels across various healthcare locations in Cape Town. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that medical laboratories and healthcare providers receive the essential materials needed for diagnostics and treatment without delay.
Applicants must possess a valid South African motorcycle driver’s license (Code A) and demonstrate proficiency in traffic rules, navigation, and time management.
Minimum Qualifications and Licensing Requirements

Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)

Valid South African Driver’s License (Code A)

Eligible to work in South Africa (must possess a valid South African ID or a legal South African work permit)
Required Skills and Experience
Candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

Prior motorbike delivery or courier driving experience

Familiarity with basic vehicle and motorbike maintenance procedures

Excellent knowledge of Cape Town’s geographic areas, including main hospitals, doctor’s offices, and clinics

Understanding of South Africa’s national traffic regulations

Good communication skills and ability to interact courteously with clients

A strong sense of responsibility and attention to punctuality and safety

Proven ability to work independently while following dispatch instructions and scheduled routes
Core Responsibilities
The daily functions of this position include but are not limited to:

Collecting and delivering laboratory reports, biological specimens, and medical parcels to and from healthcare clients, hospitals, wards, and doctor’s rooms

Ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to maintain the reliability of Ampath’s diagnostic service operations

Maintaining positive and professional relationships with clients to uphold the image and service reputation of Ampath

Ensuring motorbike upkeep, cleanliness, and operational readiness

Promptly reporting any mechanical issues or delivery complications to the appropriate logistics supervisor

Following all assigned routes and delivery schedules accurately while minimizing delays or disruptions
