Position Overview
Ampath is looking for a reliable and experienced Courier to join their team in Mayville, Durban. This role requires candidates to be in possession of both Code 8 (Code B) and Motorcycle (Code A) driver’s licenses. The courier will be responsible for collecting and delivering laboratory specimens, medical reports, and other critical parcels between hospitals, doctors’ rooms, and other facilities.
This role is ideal for candidates who are service-oriented, time-conscious, and understand the importance of logistics in the medical and pathology field.
Minimum Qualifications and Licenses
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

Grade 10 (Minimum Schooling Requirement)

Valid South African Driver’s License – Code B (Light Motor Vehicle)

Valid South African Driver’s License – Code A (Motorcycle)
-
Must be eligible to work in South Africa (SA ID or valid SA work permit)
Experience and Knowledge Requirements
Ampath seeks candidates with:

Proven driving experience with both motorcycles and light delivery vehicles

Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures

Understanding of national traffic rules and road safety regulations

Good navigation and familiarity with Durban and surrounding areas

Effective communication and customer service skills
Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Courier role include:

Collecting and delivering medical reports, laboratory specimens, and parcels in a timely and safe manner

Ensuring punctual and secure transportation to hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics, and factories

Maintaining positive relationships with clients and representing the Ampath brand with professionalism

Ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of the assigned vehicle or motorcycle
-
Reporting any incidents, traffic violations, or delays in delivery routes
-
Being available on a flexible schedule, including weekends or extended hours when required

Keeping communication lines open with team leads and dispatch personnel
