We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Storeman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock control, supplier coordination, and overseeing store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage stock administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and stock rotation.
• Place orders and liaise with suppliers upon approval from the Project/Assistant Catering Manager.
• Verify received stock against order sheets and invoices for accuracy.
• Issue stock and groceries to all external departments.
• Conduct quality checks on incoming stock and ensure proper labeling.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and secure storeroom, fridge, and freezer.
• Monitor stock levels, ensuring alignment with budget and operational needs.
• Perform weekly and monthly stocktakes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Supervise the store associate and provide guidance as needed.
• Assist with meal service stock management and ensure proper storage procedures.
• Work in conjunction with the Project/Assistant Catering Manager and Catering Supervisors.
• Be available to work over weekends when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics or stock management role.
• Matric certificate (Grade 12) or a qualification in Logistics.
• Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous (training provided).
• Familiarity with WorkSmart and SAFRON systems is a plus.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and delegation skills.
• High level of attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
• Computer literacy is essential.
