We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Storeman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock control, supplier coordination, and overseeing store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage stock administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and stock rotation.
- Place orders and liaise with suppliers upon approval from the Project/Assistant Catering Manager.
- Verify received stock against order sheets and invoices for accuracy.
- Issue stock and groceries to all external departments.
- Conduct quality checks on incoming stock and ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and secure storeroom, fridge, and freezer.
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring alignment with budget and operational needs.
- Perform weekly and monthly stocktakes.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise the store associate and provide guidance as needed.
- Assist with meal service stock management and ensure proper storage procedures.
- Work in conjunction with the Project/Assistant Catering Manager and Catering Supervisors.
- Be available to work over weekends when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics or stock management role.
- Matric certificate (Grade 12) or a qualification in Logistics.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous (training provided).
- Familiarity with WorkSmart and SAFRON systems is a plus.

- High level of attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
- Computer literacy is essential.
