Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Grade 10 certificate (NQF Level 2).
- Licenses & Certificates:
- Driver’s License (Code EC with PrDP).
- Operating Certificate / Departmental Competency Pink Card for specialized equipment.
- Experience:
- 5 years of driving and operating specialized equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Communication skills (verbal and written).
- Teamwork and ability to operate specialized equipment.
- Good eyesight and the ability to read/write.
- Vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Understanding and interpretation of operating manuals, maintenance guides, and service charts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate specialized machinery and equipment.
- Load/unload goods and equipment.
- Conduct inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of machinery.
- Maintain gravel roads through grading and shoulder maintenance.
- Driving Services:
- Transport work teams, materials, and equipment.
- Detect and repair minor mechanical problems (oil, fuel, tyres, water).
- Conduct vehicle inspections and report defects.
- Maintain logbooks and complete trip authorizations.
