Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following academic criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Currently studying towards a National Diploma in Biotechnology, Food Technology, or Analytical Chemistry (Final year)

  • Possession of a tertiary institution logbook stipulating the required exposure and experience needed for qualification completion

  • Assisting with Laboratory and Online Quality Control procedures

  • Reporting food safety and quality deviations promptly

  • Participating in the receiving and testing of raw materials and packaging

  • Conducting tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products to ensure they meet required standards

  • Active participation in INVOCOMS (information and communication meetings)

  • Supporting the implementation of the food safety culture plan on-site

  • Capturing data into the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and issuing Certificates of Analysis (COAs)

  • Accurate record-keeping in your institutional logbook to ensure compliance with Seta and academic requirements

  • Willingness to participate in any required formal institutional training sessions

  • Translating theoretical learning into practical, on-site application

  • Collaborating with the on-site Quality Control team and working closely with the manufacturing teams
