Job Overview

The Groundsman will be responsible for maintaining the college’s external areas, gardens, and facilities across campuses. This hands-on role requires physical energy, attention to cleanliness, and a proactive attitude towards maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of college premises, gardens, and surroundings

  • Perform routine gardening duties such as watering, mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, and cultivating soil

  • Apply fertilizers and insecticides as required for plant maintenance

  • Handle garden waste removal and maintain cleanliness in public outdoor spaces

  • Clean college vehicles as needed

  • Load, off-load, and move goods, stock, or college assets where required

  • Maintain and report faults in gardening tools and equipment, including minor repairs

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 Certificate (Standard 8)

  • Physically fit and able to carry out strenuous manual tasks

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • Repetitive cleaning and gardening tasks

    • Hygiene and storage protocols

    • Basic gardening tools and their maintenance

    • Occupational safety procedures
