Job Overview

The Groundsman will be responsible for maintaining the college’s external areas, gardens, and facilities across campuses. This hands-on role requires physical energy, attention to cleanliness, and a proactive attitude towards maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of college premises, gardens, and surroundings
Perform routine gardening duties such as watering, mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, and cultivating soil
Apply fertilizers and insecticides as required for plant maintenance
Handle garden waste removal and maintain cleanliness in public outdoor spaces
Clean college vehicles as needed
Load, off-load, and move goods, stock, or college assets where required
Maintain and report faults in gardening tools and equipment, including minor repairs

Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 Certificate (Standard 8)
Physically fit and able to carry out strenuous manual tasks
Basic knowledge of:
- Repetitive cleaning and gardening tasks
- Hygiene and storage protocols
- Basic gardening tools and their maintenance
- Occupational safety procedures
