Role Overview
Merchants is seeking motivated and customer-centric individuals to join their team as Call Centre Agents in Parktown, Johannesburg. The role involves rotational shift work, including weekends and public holidays, within a supportive team structure.
As a Call Centre Agent, you will be the first point of contact for customers, assisting with inquiries related to billing, service issues, and general account support. If you’re a solution-driven professional with a flair for helping people, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities

Handle inbound calls from customers related to billing, connectivity, and general service inquiries

Deliver high-quality customer experiences with empathy, accuracy, and professionalism

Provide tailored solutions to customers’ problems and promote appropriate services when necessary

Accurately capture all call details into the customer relationship management (CRM) system

Stay up to date on products, services, and procedures to offer effective and knowledgeable support

Follow internal call handling procedures and meet established performance targets

Represent the brand with integrity and a commitment to service excellence
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 qualification

A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a call centre or customer service role (preferred)

Fluency in English plus additional languages such as Zulu, Sotho, or Afrikaans

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent multitasking ability and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Availability to work on a rotational schedule, including weekends, nights, and public holidays

Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate computer systems and CRM platforms
Work Environment and Hours

Work is based on a 7-day rotating schedule, including night shifts and weekend coverage
