Role Overview
Are you enthusiastic about beauty, wellness, and exceptional customer service? The Body Shop at Somerset Mall in Cape Town is looking for a Sales Advisor (27-40 hours per week) to join their vibrant and customer-centric retail team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cosmetics and skincare, and who can confidently interact with customers while delivering outstanding service and driving sales. You’ll be the face of the brand—welcoming customers, educating them on product benefits, and ensuring their shopping experience is both inspiring and satisfying.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service by providing in-depth product knowledge and tailored skincare and beauty advice to shoppers

Maximise store sales through effective cross-selling and up-selling, ensuring customers leave with everything they need

Execute all promotional campaigns and merchandising plans to support store performance and seasonal events

Maintain high visual and cleanliness standards on the shop floor to create a welcoming, aesthetically pleasing shopping experience

Ensure all Store Operating Procedures are followed, helping to reduce loss, minimise shrinkage, and protect company assets

Work collaboratively with the retail team to achieve store targets and service objectives while promoting brand loyalty and repeat business

Uphold The Body Shop’s ethical values by promoting eco-conscious and cruelty-free products with passion and integrity
Minimum Requirements
Education:
-
Matric / Grade 12 – Essential
Experience:
-
Experience in a cosmetics or skincare environment is strongly preferred
-
Retail sales or customer service experience in any fast-paced retail or FMCG environment is advantageous
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Knowledge of retail principles, including product placement, stock control, and promotional execution

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact confidently with diverse customers

High level of customer service orientation with the ability to identify customer needs and provide suitable recommendations

Ability to apply basic sales techniques and meet sales targets

Understanding of stock management processes, including stock rotation and shrinkage reduction

Computer literacy for point-of-sale systems and basic administrative functions

Enthusiastic, well-groomed, and reliable, with a positive and flexible attitude
