Role Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining high customer satisfaction levels, managing a skilled retail team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations. You will work closely with merchandising teams, suppliers, and senior management to ensure that your store operates according to company standards and exceeds performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive store performance and meet or exceed monthly sales targets

  • Lead, mentor, and manage all in-store staff with enthusiasm and integrity

  • Create and maintain a culture of exceptional customer service

  • Recruit, train, and assess employees to build a high-performing team

  • Set staff work schedules and monitor shift effectiveness

  • Supervise merchandising, stock control, and replenishment to maintain optimal inventory levels

  • Conduct daily floor walks to assess product displays and store readiness

  • Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally

  • Maintain accurate records of stock movement, sales transactions, and staff activities

  • Manage daily operational costs and minimise controllable expenses

  • Implement and enforce all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Execute in-store promotions, roadshows, and seasonal campaigns in collaboration with centre management

  • Coordinate external service providers such as security, cleaning, and logistics according to company expectations

  • Safeguard company assets and ensure loss prevention policies are strictly enforced

  • Monitor sales trends and provide feedback to head office to inform marketing and inventory strategies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric Certificate (Grade 12) is essential

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail environment, including at least 2 years in a store management or assistant management role

  • Strong understanding of retail operations, sales strategy, and team leadership

  • Must have own or reliable transport and be available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed
