We are currently hiring a Cleaning Manager (Ad Hoc/Events) to manage and deliver high-quality cleaning services across short-term and event-based projects.

🧹 Role Overview

The Cleaning Manager will be responsible for managing cleaning operations at selected events and ad hoc locations. This includes coordinating cleaning teams, maintaining quality standards, managing equipment and logistics, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting client satisfaction and business profitability.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Oversee labor allocation, ensure accurate attendance registers, and adapt to staffing needs

• Manage and control cleaning equipment and supplies per company asset policies

• Submit store orders with proper authorization

• Address employee discipline using the company’s procedures and handle grievances effectively

• Act on daily messages, feedback, and complaints from clients or teams

• Communicate company policies and changes to all staff

• Develop contingency plans for strikes or absences

• Evaluate supervisory staff via appraisals and verbal direction

• Ensure compliance with all HR practices including recruitment, dismissals, and pay rate adjustments

• Conduct regular inspections at all active sites and events

• Attend and minute client meetings where necessary; escalate issues as needed

• Promote and upsell once-off or non-recurring cleaning services (specials)

• Participate in monthly Area Manager meetings and provide operational updates

• Maintain occupational health and safety compliance across all job sites

• Investigate and resolve client queries; assist with cheque collection where directed

• Host monthly meetings with supervisors, maintaining formal agendas and minutes

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

• Matric (Grade 12) required

• Tertiary qualification in a related field (preferred)

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in specialized cleaning (e.g., window, carpet, events)

• Experience with once-off cleaning work is highly advantageous

• Background in sales or operations within the cleaning industry preferred

• Knowledge of various cleaning equipment and machinery

• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
