Role Overview:
BUCO Nelspruit is currently seeking a motivated and detail-driven Supervisor: Despatch to join their dynamic team. This role is essential in coordinating the despatch function, ensuring that customer orders are correctly and efficiently prepared and delivered, stock is accurately managed, and that yard operations are compliant, streamlined, and customer-focused. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage workflows, and contribute to operational excellence in the despatch area.

Key Responsibilities:

Despatch and Delivery Coordination:

• Efficiently coordinate and manage all customer deliveries leaving the yard

• Physically check all delivery vehicles and stock to ensure accuracy and order fulfillment

• Maintain real-time updates of despatch activities and report discrepancies promptly

• Monitor and improve turnaround time for order preparation and delivery execution

Administrative Support and Compliance:

• Maintain comprehensive administrative records of deliveries and stock movements

• Ensure all legal compliance related to yard operations and despatch procedures

• Oversee forklift inspections (oil, water, mechanical) to ensure safe, functional equipment

• Monitor and enforce staff attendance and shift schedules

Staff Supervision and Leadership:

• Inspire and guide yard and despatch staff to perform effectively and collaboratively

• Apply company policies and ensure adherence to labour regulations

• Develop and maintain a harmonious and productive working environment

• Build a motivated team culture aligned with BUCO’s values and operational goals

Stock Control and Yard Efficiency:

• Manage stock effectively and perform regular physical checks

• Ensure delivery documentation is accurate and that goods match customer requirements

• Oversee the safe and correct loading of vehicles

• Prevent stock losses by following correct despatch procedures and documentation

Weekend and Holiday Operations:

• Prepare and maintain rosters for weekends and public holidays

• Ensure staff coverage aligns with delivery schedules and customer service demands

• Coordinate workload effectively during peak retail periods

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar despatch or logistics supervisory role

• A technical qualification or relevant diploma is highly desirable

• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with logistics and warehouse systems
