Job Purpose
Meet store sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service while effectively planning, organizing, and controlling all retail operations in accordance with the company’s standards and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Achieve sales growth by successfully managing, mentoring, and leading the store staff.
- Interact with sales merchandisers, representatives, and regional managers to assess and refine sales strategies and outcomes.
- Enforce and implement exceptional customer service to provide a WOW experience.
- Address each customer’s unique shopping needs, always putting the customer first.
- Develop, motivate, and inspire your team in an enthusiastic manner.
- Manage store staff performance by recruiting, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Authorize work schedules, including work, break, and leave schedules.
- Ensure continuous training and development of staff to maintain high performance.
- Assign tasks and follow up on work results.
- Handle customer complaints with professionalism and composure.
- Oversee daily store operations to maximize sales while keeping expenses within budget and ensuring effective stock management.
- Minimize controllable expenses and costs.
- Protect company assets by reducing shrinkage, damages, and theft.
- Execute physical plans and actions to achieve sales targets, motivating staff to meet goals.
- Maintain accurate records of stock and financial transactions.
- Conduct floor walks daily and manage warehouse or overstock replenishments and face-ups.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain company merchandise and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate and manage service providers in line with company expectations (e.g., guarding, security, cleaning, logistics).
- Ensure effective implementation of sales promotions and marketing opportunities.
- Guarantee timely execution of promotions, with advance planning and coordination.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Matric Certificate
- Must have own or reliable transport to work shifts
- A minimum of 3 years in a management position within a retail environment
