Job Description

Hyundai Roodepoort is looking for a Workshop Foreman to lead their team and ensure consistent, timely, and accurate service delivery to customers. The foreman will manage all aspects of the workshop operations, including customer service, team management, and workshop efficiency. This is a critical role for maintaining high standards of service in the automotive industry.


Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Workshop Foreman is to ensure that customers receive efficient, high-quality service. The foreman will be in charge of managing the workshop team, service advisors, and administrative staff, ensuring adherence to company processes, and maximizing productivity and customer satisfaction. They will also take responsibility for recruitment, training, and development within the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service Management:
    • Ensure efficient and focused customer service in a passenger car workshop.
    • Oversee the quality of service to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Team Management:
    • Manage and coordinate the workshop staff, including service advisors and admin staff.
    • Ensure effective communication and cooperation among the team.
  • Operations Management:
    • Handle operations such as debt collection, invoicing, quoting, warranty claims, and productivity tracking.
    • Maintain financial planning and strategic planning for the department.
  • Efficiency & Productivity:
    • Maximize the service department’s efficiency, revenue, and productivity.
    • Continuously work toward achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Staff Recruitment & Development:
    • Take accountability for staff recruitment, training, and development.
    • Ensure staff skills and knowledge are aligned with the company’s needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications:
    • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
    • A proven track record with contactable references.
    • Strong knowledge of the automotive sector and workshop operations.
