Position Purpose:

Broll Property Group is looking for a dedicated Cleaner to join the team in Sandton. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the building, including its equipment, fixtures, and furnishings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning Functions:
    • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
    • Dust and wash walls, tables, doors, light fixtures, vending machines, and windows.
    • Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, showers, tile floors, and other fixtures.
    • Regularly refill soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers.
    • Empty trash containers and maintain waste receptacles.
    • Pick up litter both inside and outside the facility as necessary.
  2. Communication and Coordination:
    • Assist company personnel and service providers as needed.
    • Inform management of area activities, significant problems, or cleaning concerns.
  3. Client Relations:
    • Maintain courteous and professional relations with clients, visitors, and the general public.
  4. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Perform miscellaneous cleaning and special tasks as assigned.
    • Ensure facility security and report any security concerns.

Performance Measurements:

  • Facilities and equipment are consistently clean and well-maintained.
  • Cleaning tasks are completed safely and on schedule, following established procedures.
  • Issues or problems with cleaning are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Communication and coordination with other team members and company operations are effective.
  • Positive interactions with visitors, vendors, and clients are maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education/Certification:
    • No formal education required. Matric is preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and safety regulations (OSHA).
  • Experience:
    • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is helpful but not required.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and follow directions.
    • Ability to work weekends and evenings if needed.
