Position Overview
The Fitment Service Inspector (Quality Control) will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing quality standards within Fidelity SecureDrive. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a solid background in fitment and installation within the automotive industry. The selected candidate must be committed to maintaining the company’s reputation for excellence in quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure that all allocated resources, including vehicles, tools, and stock, are well-maintained and compliant with company standards.
- Uphold roadworthiness and cleanliness standards for company vehicles while monitoring and addressing any traffic offenses associated with these vehicles.
- Conduct routine stock takes and resolve any discrepancies related to missing stock items.
- Ensure that all tools are stored securely and are in good working condition.
- Monitor and maintain operational standards for communication devices like cell phones and ensure efficient data usage.
2. Appearance and Uniform Standards:
- Uphold the standards of cleanliness and presentation for company uniforms in accordance with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) requirements.
- Ensure that employees under your supervision maintain a neat and professional appearance in adherence to the company’s guidelines.
3. Technical Coaching and Onsite Support:
- Provide on-the-job coaching to technicians when necessary to enhance their skills and performance.
- Address and resolve complaints, client queries, and technical issues as they arise.
- Offer product support and technical assistance, both onsite and remotely, to ensure client satisfaction and maintain the company’s reputation for exceptional service.
4. Fitment, Repair, and Installation:
- Assist with fitments and hardware installations when required, ensuring that they are completed to the highest quality standards and within designated timelines.
- Perform the installation, maintenance, and repair of tracking systems, adhering to company protocols.
- Maintain the quality of fitment by implementing new techniques in line with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) fitment guidelines and requirements.
- Execute specialized fitment techniques as needed to uphold and enhance quality standards.
5. Personal Development and Policy Adherence:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable company policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety, uniform standards, and hygiene.
- Take the initiative to enhance your own skills and knowledge to remain current and effective in the role.
- Provide comprehensive and timely feedback to internal stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Educational Requirement: Matric
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license (Code B) and a PSIRA Grade C certification
- Criminal Record: Clear criminal record required
- Technical Expertise: A trade test in motor electrical electronics or a related field is preferred. A qualification as an auto-electrician is an added advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in the fitment of vehicle tracking equipment is essential.
