Job Opportunity: Packaging Supervisor

Join our team as a Packaging Supervisor in our Packing and Filling Department, where you will lead staff and oversee daily operations to ensure product quality and efficiency. We’re seeking a motivated individual with a strong commitment to quality and the ability to adapt to production demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Oversight: Manage production line schedules based on available resources and weekly plans.
• Daily Operations: Execute daily production plans, allocate resources, and adjust plans as needed.
• Quality Control: Track performance, monitor quality standards, and ensure compliance with yields and specifications.
• Stock & Inventory: Control filled products, reconcile batch stocks, and handle any packaging issues.
• Waste Management: Manage waste segregation, record-keeping, and maintain FIFO and FEFO stock rotations.
• Record Maintenance: Check, sign off on records, and investigate any discrepancies.
• Equipment Management: Log equipment issues, assess breakdowns, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Team Management: Plan and schedule labor, oversee time and attendance, and conduct staff evaluations.
• Training & Development: Identify training needs and support recruitment efforts as necessary.

Competencies

• Supervision Skills: Strong leadership to supervise staff assertively.
• Organizational Skills: Prioritize and manage daily operations under pressure.
• Problem-Solving: Display initiative and handle issues proactively.
• Communication: Proficient in English and Afrikaans; good numeracy and literacy.
• Technical Proficiency: Competent in MS Office and record management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent, with a focus on maths and science.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in production, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
