Job Description:

RCL Foods is seeking a skilled Draughtsman to join their Sugar team in Komati. The primary role of this position is to manage the Drawing office efficiently, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to RCL Foods Quality Standards. The role involves creating detailed drawings, updating existing ones, and ensuring all documentation is up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drawing Office Management:
  • Oversee the smooth and effective operation of the Drawing office.
  • Ensure all reference materials borrowed from the office are returned.
• Design and Documentation:
  • Create and update plant layout drawings and pipeline designs.
  • Revise drawings to reflect plant modifications.
  • Accurately measure onsite equipment for modification and produce detailed drawings for machining or manufacturing of components.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Perform dimensional and quality checks of drawings and manufactured components.
  • Uphold high standards of workmanship in line with RCL Foods Quality Standards.
• Safety and Maintenance:
  • Report and investigate any accidents or incidents and implement preventative measures.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Comply with all safety rules as per RCL Foods and OSH Act requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education:
  • S3/T3/N6 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience as a general engineering Draughtsman in a medium to heavy industry.
  • Experience in the sugar industry is an added advantage.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (C.A.D), particularly AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Additional Requirements:
  • The candidate must be a South African citizen.
