DSV is a global leader in transport and logistics, operating in over 90 countries with close to 160,000 colleagues. The Cape Town branch is seeking a Sales Representative – New Business, Road Logistics to prospect, secure, and implement new client accounts within the Distribution market.

This role is ideal for candidates with a strong sales mindset, experience in new business development, and a background in transport, logistics, or supply chain solutions.


Role Overview

The Sales Representative will focus on signing new business in the Road Logistics sector for the allocated region, achieving monthly and annual targets, and developing a qualified sales pipeline. The role also requires managing client relationships, supporting tenders, and collaborating with internal teams to create innovative, cross-silo solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sign new business within the Distribution market and meet set targets.

  • Prospect and convert leads into sustainable, billing clients.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Prepare monthly billing and financial reports.

  • Perform general administrative duties and maintain accurate client records.

  • Represent and promote the DSV brand at all times.

  • Analyze sales-related information and report weekly to the Regional Sales Manager.

  • Conduct competitor and industry analysis.

  • Assist with tender and proposal preparation, submission, and presentations.

  • Deliver sustainable value to clients by proposing innovative business solutions.

  • Monitor and communicate implementation of signed business agreements.

  • Manage debtor days according to company requirements.

  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication and identify cross-silo solutions.

  • Mentor junior New Business Sales Executives.

  • Update and maintain the internal CRM system and ensure client files comply with Quality Management standards.

  • Meet client call ratio KPIs as set by management.


Minimum Requirements

  • 2–3 years of new business sales experience in the transport and logistics industry.

  • Proven track record in prospecting, securing new business, and achieving targets.

  • Experience in tender management and selling cross-silo solutions.

  • Ability to develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline.

  • Intermediate computer literacy in full MS Office Suite.
