Role Overview

The Contractor Logistics Trainer – Warehouse Operations will play a vital role in developing and delivering training programs that equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform effectively in a warehouse environment. This position is ideal for an experienced trainer with a passion for education, logistics operations, and workforce development.

Reporting to the Logistics Training Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating, updating, and delivering process improvement training, mentoring employees, and fostering a high-performance culture across all warehouse operations. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced, dynamic logistics industry while gaining exposure to large-scale warehouse training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Trainer will be expected to:

  • Develop and Update Training Material: Design and enhance training content for warehouse operations, including process improvement, safety, and efficiency.

  • Deliver Training Programs: Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels, including classroom-based, on-the-job, and shadowing sessions.

  • Mentoring and Coaching: Provide structured coaching, mentoring, and guidance to new and existing employees, ensuring seamless onboarding and skill development.

  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Continuously assess the success of training interventions, making improvements to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Organise Training Champions: Coordinate with internal Training Champions, Coaches, and Mentors to support employees and track progress.

  • Support Operational Efficiency: Partner with managers and stakeholders to align training outcomes with business goals, focusing on improving warehouse productivity and safety.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives such as Kaizen projects to enhance warehouse processes, reduce waste, and optimise operations.

  • Promote a Positive Work Culture: Foster teamwork, communication, and collaboration within the warehouse environment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • NQF Level 5 Qualification in Training & Higher Education, Industrial Psychology, ETDP, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience delivering training to employees across various levels.

  • Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or manufacturing environments.

  • Shop Floor or Dojo training exposure will be an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Ability to conduct complex calculations for planning and resource allocation.

  • Experience in supervisory roles within logistics or warehousing will be beneficial.

  • Knowledge of Kaizen methodology, problem-solving, and continuous improvement strategies.
