ABOUT THE ROLE
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking a diligent and dependable Cleaner to join their Polokwane branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the office premises. This includes regular housekeeping tasks, sanitation of restrooms, and upkeep of public and office spaces, ensuring that all areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness and orderliness.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, knowledge of cleaning practices and safety procedures, and a proactive approach to maintaining the overall appearance and hygiene of the workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform floor care duties including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and spot-cleaning carpets in all office areas and boardrooms.
- Maintain cleanliness of employee desks, chairs, counters, and other surfaces by dusting, spraying, and wiping down regularly.
- Collect and dispose of trash from offices and common areas to ensure a tidy environment.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms daily, adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain balconies and balustrades, ensuring these areas are clean and presentable.
- Clean windows in offices, boardrooms, and other relevant areas to maintain clear and spotless glass surfaces.
- Arrange and replenish refreshments for visitors and staff, ensuring the kitchen and fridge areas are neat and well stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness of management fridges and ensure refreshments are adequately supplied.
- Communicate with management regarding required cleaning supplies and report any repairs or replacements needed during cleaning routines.
- Identify and report any health and safety hazards to management promptly to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure the safe storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and hazardous substances following company and legal safety standards.
- Assist with general office duties when necessary, supporting the broader team as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Cleaner within an office or similar environment is essential.
Skills and Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including safe handling procedures.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and associated safety regulations.
- Understanding of personal protective clothing and safety standards related to cleaning duties.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills to report maintenance issues and coordinate with management.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks.
