Role Overview

As a Branch Admin Officer, you will be responsible for capturing request forms, processing patient information, and handling specimen-related administration using Ampath’s laboratory systems. You’ll work closely with laboratory professionals, nursing staff, and patients, ensuring accuracy at every step of the administrative process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately capture patient and specimen data onto the Ampath system

  • Process and verify incoming clinical request forms

  • Support the branch’s specimen handling process with attention to time and quality standards

  • Perform administrative duties to assist nurses and laboratory personnel

  • Communicate with internal departments to ensure clarity and coordination

  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards

  • Respond to client or patient queries in a professional manner

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (essential)

  • 1 to 4 years’ experience in data capturing or administrative roles, preferably in the healthcare or medical sector

  • Previous experience in pathology, private healthcare, or laboratory environments will be an advantage

  • Ability to operate basic office software and internal healthcare systems

  • Familiarity with patient data handling, record management, and privacy protocols
