Role Overview
As a Sales Consultant – Carpentry, your primary focus will be to understand customers’ needs, recommend the right products and services, and ensure complete customer satisfaction throughout the entire sales process. You will play a vital role in providing personalised project solutions, guiding customers from product selection to after-sales support.
This role combines technical product knowledge, relationship building, and hardware sales expertise to drive business growth and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Sales Excellence

Build meaningful relationships with customers by understanding their unique requirements.

Apply professional sales processes to meet and exceed sales targets.

Provide detailed product knowledge and guidance to customers on carpentry products, hardware solutions, and home improvement services.

Offer complete, personalised solutions including delivery and installation services.

Assist customers at every stage of their project, ensuring satisfaction before, during, and after the sale.

Identify new business opportunities by staying updated on market trends and customer needs.

Conduct follow-ups on sales leads to convert inquiries into sales.
Product and Store Management

Liaise with Department Managers and Merchandisers to maintain preferred products and customer-demanded stock levels.

Ensure the store maintains excellent condition in terms of cleanliness, product displays, pricing, and visual merchandising standards.

Participate in the department’s commercial action plan to drive sales performance.

Keep store fully stocked and assist with maintaining product availability.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4 equivalent.

Proven experience as a Sales Consultant, preferably in hardware, carpentry, or home improvement industries.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong passion for serving customers and providing practical solutions.

Friendly, confident, and engaging personality with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Understanding of pricing methodologies and product positioning.

Exceptional customer service orientation with attention to detail.

Ability to manage the full sales cycle, including follow-ups and after-sales support.

Proficient in English and confident using various sales channels (e.g., email, WhatsApp, phone).
