We are now seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal. If you are passionate about mechanical work, value accountability, and want to be part of a company that invests in its people, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Role Overview

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a diverse vehicle fleet including trucks, LDVs, and mobile equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background working on Isuzu trucks and LDVs, excellent fault-finding skills, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform service and maintenance of the company’s vehicle fleet (trucks, LDVs, mobile equipment)

  • Attend to roadside assistance and vehicle breakdowns when required

  • Carry out minor auto-electrical repairs and diagnostics

  • Complete job cards accurately and submit them timeously

  • Maintain accurate administrative functions related to vehicle repairs and servicing

  • Conduct accident and incident investigations related to vehicle breakdowns or malfunctions

  • Be available for standby duties and weekend work as required

  • Uphold safety standards in the workshop and on site at all times

  • Engage in preventative maintenance and proactive fault detection

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic (N3 Certificate and Trade Test Certificate)

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience working with Isuzu trucks and Isuzu LDVs

  • Auto-electrical experience is highly advantageous

  • Valid Code C1 driver’s license with a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)

  • Must have own tools and be equipped to work independently

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Strong auto-electrical skills and general mechanical aptitude

  • Reliable, accountable, and self-driven work ethic

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer literacy is essential

  • High attention to detail

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies
