ROLE OVERVIEW

As Lead of IT Recruitment, you’ll be the senior-most authority on technical recruitment within the company. This strategic leadership role involves overseeing the entire full-cycle recruitment process for engineering, DevOps, ML/AI, and infrastructure roles. You’ll manage internal and offshore recruiting teams, develop sourcing infrastructure, and act as a partner to engineering and product leadership across Theoria.

This is a remote-first, high-impact position designed for an experienced tech recruiting leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a passion for building processes that scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Full-Cycle Technical Recruiting

  • Lead the recruitment process for technical roles including Software Engineering, Data Science, ML/AI, DevOps, and Infrastructure.

  • Serve as the key liaison between hiring managers and tech leadership across teams.

  • Ensure candidate quality, velocity, and seamless end-to-end hiring experiences.

2. Recruitment Team Leadership

  • Manage and coach a Philippines-based tech recruiting pod.

  • Conduct training on advanced sourcing methods (e.g., Boolean search, GitHub/Kaggle sourcing).

  • Drive KPIs and outreach targets: 100+ outreaches/week and 10–20 screenings/week.

3. Infrastructure & Process Development

  • Collaborate with the SVP of Talent to roll out tools like:

    • ATS: Greenhouse

    • Technical Assessments: Codility or HackerRank

    • Outreach Platforms: Gem, AmazingHiring, Notion

    • Scorecards: Customized for coding, modeling, teamwork, and communication

  • Develop scalable SOPs and performance tracking frameworks.

4. External Partner Management

  • Vet and manage external search partners such as Manila Recruitment, Curran Daly, and A7.

  • Oversee candidate quality control, contract negotiation, and pipeline reporting.

5. Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide weekly recruitment funnel reports, including sourcing metrics and conversion rates.

  • Act as a strategic partner between technical teams and recruitment to ensure alignment with organizational growth goals.

6. Employer Branding & Talent Community Engagement

  • Work with marketing to build a dedicated “Careers in Tech at Theoria” landing page.

  • Represent Theoria in online tech forums, university communities (e.g., UP Diliman), and host tech recruitment webinars.

7. Passive Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee the development of a passive sourcing strategy targeting top talent from companies like Canva, Thinking Machines, Pointwest, and Accenture.

  • Guide teams in sourcing from LinkedIn, GitHub, Kaggle, and niche job boards.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Experience: 5–10 years in technical recruiting with demonstrated success in scaling hiring at tech startups or agencies.

  • Sourcing Expertise: Skilled in Boolean search, GitHub/Kaggle mining, and LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Leadership: Prior experience managing remote recruiting teams, particularly in Southeast Asia (PH preferred).

  • Technical Hiring Knowledge: Deep understanding of engineering, data science, DevOps, and AI/ML functions.

  • Tools Proficiency: Greenhouse, Gem, HackerRank, Codility, and performance analytics dashboards.

  • Soft Skills: Organized, clear communicator, and able to own complex processes in a start-up environment.
