ROLE OVERVIEW
Are you a sales-driven logistics expert ready to build lasting relationships and generate new revenue streams in a dynamic environment? DSV is seeking an experienced Sales Representative – New Business for its Cape Town branch, focusing on road logistics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prospecting, pipeline development, and closing new business deals in line with monthly and annual targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Secure new business within the distribution and road logistics sector for the Cape Town region

Consistently meet and exceed monthly and annual new business sales targets

Generate and manage a qualified new business pipeline through proactive prospecting

Conduct client meetings, present proposals, and convert leads into billing clients

Develop and maintain client relationships to ensure long-term retention and growth
-
Deliver accurate monthly billing reports and assist with financial forecasting
-
Provide weekly sales reports and competitor insights to the Regional Sales Manager

Prepare and submit tenders and proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs
-
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to offer cross-silo logistics solutions

Mentor junior sales executives, sharing knowledge and best practices
-
Ensure up-to-date and accurate client information is maintained in the CRM system

Uphold DSV brand values in all interactions, presentations, and documentation
-
Perform all administrative tasks as required by DSV’s internal procedures and standards
-
Maintain strong interdepartmental communication to support smooth service delivery
-
Assist in managing debtors’ days and ensure financial compliance
-
Stay informed about market trends, client industries, and competitor performance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
2–3 years of proven new business sales experience in the transport and logistics industry

Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed new business targets
-
Strong understanding of industry supply chains and sales best practices

Experience in tender management and solution-based selling

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint (Intermediate level)

Comfortable with financial reporting, client forecasting, and CRM usage
-
Highly skilled in administration, communication, and managing client data

Ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse teams
