ROLE OVERVIEW
DSV is seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Forwarder to join their Air Export – Sky Services team based at Cape Town International Airport. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth coordination of perishable airfreight exports and/or imports, managing everything from airline bookings and client communications to documentation and shipment tracking.
This is a high-pressure environment requiring deep industry knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead and resolve challenges efficiently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and process export documentation including:
-
Air Waybills (AWB)
-
SAD forms
-
Phytosanitary Certificates
-
PPECB
-
Certificates of Origin (COO)
-

Handle airline bookings and negotiate rates in accordance with agreement terms
-
Liaise professionally with clients and airline representatives via email and telephone
-
Coordinate daily shipment and warehouse planning
-
Track shipments and update clients on status
-
Ensure accurate SARS acquittals
-
Maintain booking lists and ensure compliance with international export regulations
-
Collaborate with warehouse teams to schedule deliveries and collections
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Matric Certificate (Essential)
-
5+ years’ experience in Perishable Airfreight exports and/or imports
-
Comprehensive understanding of freight forwarding practices
-
Familiarity with international airline routes and booking procedures
-
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
-
Exceptional attention to detail, especially under pressure

Proven leadership abilities and the ability to take initiative

Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience with CargoWise One (Essential)

Ability to manage data accuracy, logistics planning, and documentation workflow

Comfortable working with multiple systems and tight operational timelines
