ROLE OVERVIEW
The Service Assistant plays a vital support role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment across the company’s operational areas. This position contributes to the company’s image, safety, and hygiene standards by performing a range of duties including warehouse housekeeping, garden maintenance, and vehicle cleaning. A key member of the logistics team, the Service Assistant ensures the workplace remains professional, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping & Sanitation

Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, common areas, and operational zones

Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting of surfaces

Ensure waste disposal processes are followed correctly
Gardening & Outdoor Maintenance
-
Maintain exterior premises, gardens, and landscaped areas

Mow lawns, trim hedges, water plants, and remove weeds
-
Keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and visually appealing
Fleet Hygiene
-
Regularly wash and clean company fleet vehicles including delivery trucks and vans

Monitor vehicle appearance standards and report any maintenance needs
Workplace Safety
-
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines at all times

Assist in creating and maintaining a safe working environment

Adhere to operational safety protocols and hygiene policies
Operational Support
-
Collaborate with logistics and support teams to meet cleanliness KPIs
-
Assist with maintaining stock of cleaning materials and supplies

Participate in initiatives that promote organizational excellence and efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
-
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
-
2–3 years’ experience in a similar support or housekeeping role
-
FMCG or retail logistics experience is highly advantageous
