Role Overview
Maersk is hiring a Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations at its Contract Logistics site in Cape Town. The role is essential in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods accurately while maintaining high safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Storing

Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality

Unload, label, and store items in appropriate warehouse locations

Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for stock entry and tracking
Order Picking and Packing
-
Pick and pack goods based on customer and operational instructions

Ensure secure packaging and accurate labeling to avoid transit damage
Inventory Management

Conduct cycle counts and stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy

Report and help resolve inventory discrepancies or shortages

Maintain proper records of stock levels and stock movements
Loading and Dispatching

Assist in loading outbound shipments onto trucks or transport vehicles

Ensure all items are correctly processed and dispatched in time
Health and Safety Compliance

Follow company safety protocols and use PPE as required

Report safety incidents, hazards, or equipment malfunctions promptly

Handle warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and responsibly
General Duties

Keep work areas clean and organized

Collaborate with team members to meet daily performance targets

Support cross-functional warehouse activities as needed
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
-
1–2 years’ experience in warehouse or logistics operations preferred

Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills

Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and standing for extended hours

Forklift license or certification is advantageous

Willingness to work in a team environment and meet strict deadlines
