ROLE OVERVIEW

The HR Officer – Polokwane DC will play a key role in maintaining all human resources functions within our supply chain division. This includes overseeing timekeeping data, maintaining accurate personnel records, ensuring labour law compliance, and supporting recruitment and training efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative, interpersonal, and employee relations skills and be ready to contribute meaningfully to the success of the new facility in Limpopo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRP (Personnel Records Processing):

  • Verify and ensure daily staff clocking data is accurate and valid.

  • Monitor staff hours worked and report patterns or discrepancies.

  • Compile and submit overtime records for managerial approval.

  • Investigate leave discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain and update personnel records within internal databases.

  • Manage HR correspondence and assist in document management.

  • Supervise an HR Assistant and guide junior HR support.

  • Assist in recruitment, job advertising, and new employee onboarding.

  • Conduct induction, transfer, and exit processes effectively.

  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies.

Employee Relations and Industrial Relations (IR):

  • Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues.

  • Guide and support managers in handling disciplinary actions.

  • Manage grievances and facilitate fair conflict resolution processes.

  • Offer employee counseling and advise on workplace policies.

Support Functions:

  • Control ordering and issuing of staff uniforms.

  • Manage stationery procurement, distribution, and stock levels.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A Higher Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably in a supply chain or FMCG environment.

  • Solid understanding of South African Labour Law and HR compliance practices.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications.

  • Proven experience in recruitment, HR administration, and employee relations.

  • Strong attention to detail and process-driven thinking.

  • Ability to manage HR documentation and maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
