We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and sales-driven Assistant Store Manager to join our team in George, situated in the heart of the Garden Route. This is a key leadership role aimed at driving customer satisfaction, meeting store sales targets, and managing daily store operations to perfection.
Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager by managing operations, leading a team of employees, and ensuring excellent customer service. You will drive the execution of sales strategies, oversee inventory control, develop team performance, and implement the company’s standards and procedures. Your contribution will directly impact store profitability and customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in achieving store sales targets and operational goals through effective team management

Mentor, coach, and inspire team members to maintain a high-performance culture

Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure a WOW shopping experience for all

Recruit, train, appraise, and discipline employees to ensure optimal staff development

Authorise work schedules, break periods, and leave planning for staff

Monitor daily store performance and initiate action plans to address gaps

Drive stock management, replenishment, and floor presentation for all product categories

Control expenses and maximise sales turnover while working within allocated budgets

Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are implemented and enforced

Conduct daily store walks and address merchandising issues proactively

Oversee execution of promotional campaigns and events in partnership with centre management

Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner

Coordinate third-party service providers (e.g., security, cleaning, logistics)

Maintain accurate records of stock movements, transactions, and staff performance metrics

Uphold high standards of store cleanliness, layout, and product displays
Minimum Requirements

Matric Certificate (Grade 12) is mandatory

Minimum of 3 years in a retail management role with a strong leadership record

Must have reliable own transport and be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Proven ability to lead retail teams and drive customer satisfaction and store performance
