The Technology Support Technician (Level 1) will play a vital role in the maintenance, support, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted access to technology systems critical to business operations.
Role Overview
As a Technology Support Technician (Level 1), you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and remediation of infrastructure-level technology systems. This includes diagnosing technical issues, performing end-user support, and assisting in governance and compliance functions related to technology standards.
This role is ideal for candidates who possess foundational IT support knowledge and are eager to expand their experience in infrastructure and enterprise support environments.
Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support at an infrastructure level to ensure continuous and reliable technology operation

Install and configure physical and logical IT devices to support business operations

Identify, analyze, and resolve hardware and software defects

Execute scheduled technology installations and maintenance tasks

Support other technicians by providing technical insight and peer collaboration
-
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company IT standards and governance procedures
-
Manage and execute defined IT tasks based on customer requirements and service-level agreements

Participate in the real-time resolution of system faults and log all issues for tracking and continuous improvement

Assist in implementing and reviewing standard operating procedures for IT systems and processes
Minimum Requirements

Education:
-
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

Microsoft MCSE Training, or
-
A+ and N+ Certifications (Candidates with Application and/or Technology Support General Expertise will be given preference)

Experience:
-
A minimum of 1 year relevant IT support experience

Experience in diagnosing hardware and software issues, basic networking, and technology deployment

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware, and software support

Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues quickly

Good written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-performance environment
