Role Overview
The Manager: Field Case Management will be responsible for leading and managing field-based rehabilitation and health case services. This includes coordinating long-term healthcare solutions for injured claimants, developing cost-effective recovery strategies, and ensuring high-quality clinical support that aligns with RAF’s strategic goals. The incumbent will oversee operational teams, healthcare provider relationships, and internal processes to support claimant well-being and community reintegration.
Key Responsibilities
Policy and Strategy Implementation

Contribute to the enhancement and execution of RAF’s case management strategy

Ensure alignment with organisational goals and best practices in rehabilitation
Case Management and Administration
-
Manage all assigned claimant cases from intake to recovery
-
Oversee appointment and training of caregivers
-
Ensure cost-effective, high-quality healthcare delivery
-
Conduct evaluations to assess effectiveness of care plans
-
Supervise development of care guidelines and monitor service provider performance
Claimant Rehabilitation Oversight
-
Track and manage claimant rehabilitation progress and outcomes
-
Coordinate in-home assessments and develop tailored healthcare plans
-
Facilitate service authorisations and ensure compliance with RAF policies
-
Determine the suitable rehabilitation duration and ensure family support mechanisms
Work and Community Reintegration
-
Liaise with medical professionals and employers to reintegrate claimants into work
-
Support families in managing post-injury recovery
-
Identify and connect claimants to relevant community support services
Invoice Management
-
Validate all invoices against service claims
-
Ensure accurate billing and prevent fraudulent submissions
-
Authorise timely payments and ensure compliance with RAF guidelines
Reporting and Analysis

Submit monthly and quarterly performance reports

Track and escalate rehabilitation plan progress and cost performance

Provide decision-support insights related to claimant care and budget impact
Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain effective working relationships with healthcare providers
-
Ensure prompt resolution of queries and accurate guidance to stakeholders

Monitor and enforce service provider compliance with SLAs
People Management

Recruit and develop a high-performance field case management team

Implement human capital practices aligned with employment equity targets

Monitor team output and ensure alignment with strategic RAF objectives
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Educational Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Health Sciences or related Medical field
-
Postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences (Advantageous)

Registered with relevant Health Professional Council
Required Experience
-
6–8 years in nursing or case management
-
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role
-
In-depth knowledge of medical case management and healthcare protocols
