Job Overview
The Cashier will be responsible for handling, counting, and reconciling large sums of money collected from drivers and external partners such as Fidelity Guards. You will maintain strict accuracy in receipt book entries, ensure deposit security, and execute daily banking functions. If you have previous cashiering experience—especially in a bakery or retail setting—this role is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cashier at Tiger Brands, your core duties will include:

Counting driver deposits and all incoming funds with precision

Completing all receipts and documenting transactions accurately

Liaising with Fidelity Guards and Coin Security for cash collection logistics

Reconciling all cash received against receipt books and deposit slips
-
Executing daily banking tasks and ensuring deposit slips match actual deposits
-
Balancing daily cash reports and communicating discrepancies to management
-
Maintaining strict cash control procedures to prevent losses or mismanagement

Supporting internal audits and financial compliance procedures
Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

At least 1 year of experience as a cashier, preferably within a bakery, supermarket, or FMCG environment

Strong cash-handling and reconciliation skills

Familiarity with security protocols for handling deposits and working with security companies

Strong numeracy and attention to detail

Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as required

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with internal and external stakeholders
