Job Overview:
The Bakery Manager will execute the bakery strategy, coordinate operations to serve consumers and customers, and drive a sustainable competitive advantage. The role entails meeting business P&L targets, understanding the bakery’s financial impact, and building a high-performing operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Translate bakery strategy into actionable business plans, collaborating with cross-functional partners (Sales, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain).
- Drive strategy implementation with a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring integration across functions (Marketing, HR, and Finance).
- Set go-to-market priorities and partner with Sales to achieve objectives across key channels and regions.
Financial Management
- Ensure bakery financial performance aligns with targets.
- Identify growth opportunities while managing sales discounts to balance growth with profitability.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls for sales, balances, and returns.
Operations & Supply Chain
- Drive supply chain excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective maintenance and engineering management, including GMR appointments and CAPEX execution.
- Close out corrective actions for audits and adhere to safety and quality standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant Degree (Business, Supply Chain, or related field).
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Experience
- 5-10 years of bakery industry experience.
- Proven expertise in logistics, depot management, and production management.
- Financial accounting knowledge, including P&L statements.
- Experience in sales management.
