🎮 Role Overview

The Gaming Floor Manager will be accountable for day-to-day floor operations covering both slots and tables gaming. The role demands a dynamic, experienced individual capable of driving strategic decisions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a motivated workforce. This position is vital to enhancing the overall guest experience, managing spend, and ensuring that the casino operates at peak efficiency during each shift.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

🔄 Shift & Operations Management

  • Schedule staff and allocate duties to ensure optimal floor coverage

  • Conduct shift briefings, handovers, and complete shift reports

  • Be visible on the floor to address guest needs, resolve complaints, and elevate service quality

  • Supervise table openings/closings, credit transactions, and chip transfers

  • Authorize slot jackpot payouts and investigate payout anomalies

  • Oversee inspections, replacement of gaming cards, and floor appearance

  • Reconcile cash-ups and verify final shift balances

🎰 Slots & Tables Product Management

  • Conduct product performance analysis for both slots and tables

  • Investigate variances in hold percentages and revenue

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure maintenance is conducted as per schedule

  • Provide input on product mix and pricing strategies

  • Drive the execution of action plans to enhance revenue and floor efficiency

📋 Standards & Governance

  • Develop and communicate operational monitoring standards

  • Monitor compliance with gaming legislation and internal SOPs

  • Implement control measures to mitigate operational risks

  • Conduct departmental walkabouts and self-assessments to ensure adherence to compliance

  • Support internal and external audits and address remedial actions

👥 People Management

  • Manage employee conditions: attendance, productivity, leave, and policy compliance

  • Identify and deliver training needs for succession and upskilling

  • Lead performance reviews, employee motivation, and staff communication

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and resource planning

  • Cultivate a culture of high-performance and continuous development

💸 Financial & Stock Control

  • Authorize discretionary spend within budget limits

  • Manage and monitor productivities and cost efficiencies

  • Oversee handling and inventory of stock including chips, cards, and loyalty materials

💬 Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure high-level guest service and respect at all times

  • Train staff on promotions, loyalty programmes, and service etiquette

  • Manage guest loyalty database and prepare monthly insights

  • Build relationships with VIP patrons and manage reservations

  • Capture and resolve guest feedback via internal systems (e.g., Nquba)

🤝 Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Liaise with F&B and housekeeping to maintain a clean and inviting floor

  • Communicate VIP arrivals and activities to hotel and senior management

  • Collaborate with marketing on promotions, events, and post-event evaluations

  • Coordinate with security on floor concerns, ensuring safety and compliance

  • Keep internal teams updated on shifts, regulatory changes, and business objectives

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Grade 12 plus a Certificate in Business Administration or an NQF 5 qualification in management or specialisation

  • Participation in a Gaming Development Programme is an advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of gaming experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

  • Must qualify for a gaming licence and meet FICA requirements

  • Willing and able to work shifts as required by operational needs

  • Must be physically fit to manage gaming equipment and possess colour recognition skills
