Role Overview

CPSI is hiring an experienced and technically skilled Assistant Director: IT Support to join its ICT unit. The ideal candidate will lead technical support initiatives, manage ICT service requests and infrastructure projects, and oversee ICT compliance and innovation within the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line and advanced ICT support to internal stakeholders.

  • Oversee and manage ICT incident logging, resolution tracking, and service improvements.

  • Administer firewall infrastructure (on-site and hosted) including spam filters, IP filtering, and endpoint security.

  • Ensure SLA adherence and Operational Plan compliance.

  • Manage ICT hardware and software upgrades, including LAN/WAN network optimization and server enhancements.

  • Support and configure hosted telephone and PABX infrastructure.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and infrastructure diagnostics to ensure operational continuity.

  • Track and resolve user service requests in accordance with service level standards.

  • Conduct bi-annual user satisfaction surveys to improve ICT services and support outcomes.


Qualifications and Experience

  • A Senior Certificate and a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or an equivalent field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT Service Desk operations, network administration, server support, and infrastructure project management within the public sector.

  • Certifications in IT service support and cloud hosting technologies (advantageous).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:

    • Government and SITA ICT procurement processes

    • LAN/WAN networks and connectivity

    • Firewalls, endpoint security, and security gateways

    • Public Service ICT frameworks (e.g., CGICTPF)

    • Transversal systems and server emulation

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
