Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Perishable Demand Planner to join our Commercial team. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring the accurate forecasting and availability of perishable goods across our retail network. You will play a pivotal role in aligning stock levels with sales trends, minimizing waste, and ensuring our fresh product offerings meet customer demand — all while boosting overall profitability and supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast demand using historical data and analytics to ensure perishable stock levels align with sales projections

  • Maintain optimal stock availability while preventing overstocking, waste, and expired inventory

  • Plan and manage stock levels in collaboration with category teams and buyers

  • Monitor low, zero-movement, and out-of-stock items daily and adjust orders accordingly

  • Build and execute promotional stock strategies that support profitability and product turnover

  • Collaborate with Space Planning and store operations to optimize shelf allocation and replenishment

  • Track supplier lead times and delivery schedules to ensure just-in-time deliveries, especially for new store openings

  • Control aged, discontinued, and unproductive stock through strategic markdowns or clearance activities

  • Generate and analyze reports for daily insights into stock health and performance metrics

  • Work closely with commercial, logistics, and planning teams to ensure supply continuity and execution of merchandising strategies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a finance-related field (advantageous)

  • 2+ years of demand planning experience in an FMCG or retail environment (essential)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills

  • Experience with BI tools or merchandise management systems is beneficial

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven retail setting
