Based at Europcar’s head office in Bruma, Johannesburg, the company is expanding its team in the Debtors department and looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Supervisor: Credit Controller to join their ranks.

Role Overview

The Supervisor: Credit Controller will be responsible for managing a team of Credit Controllers, ensuring that collection targets are met and the risk of overdue accounts is minimized. You will oversee daily operations, manage queries, provide team support, and ensure adherence to credit control procedures. The role is pivotal in driving departmental efficiency and ensuring that the team consistently delivers on targets, while maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Credit Controllers to achieve KPIs, ensuring collection targets are met and overdue accounts are minimized.

  • Manage daily queries from both internal and external customers, as well as key stakeholders.

  • Monitor all customer communications, ensuring that interactions are professional and aligned with company standards.

  • Oversee and manage customer feedback to ensure positive customer satisfaction index (CSI) scores.

  • Conduct monthly book reviews and performance evaluations for team members.

  • Approve credit card transaction authorizations from banks.

  • Ensure that daily reconciliations are reviewed and managed according to standard operating procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, helping resolve issues effectively and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly reports are compiled and submitted on time.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years’ senior-level experience in debtors/credit control.

  • 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, managing a team.

Minimum Education:

  • Matric (NQF Level 4 or equivalent).

  • Tertiary qualification in Credit Management or Finance (NQF Level 5 or higher).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid unendorsed driver’s license.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of industry legislative compliance, particularly the National Credit Act (NCA) and other relevant laws.
