Role Overview
As a Sales Consultant in the Electrical department, your role will center around providing tailored solutions to customers by understanding their needs and guiding them through the available product and service offerings. You’ll serve as the critical link between customers and the company, ensuring each interaction results in a positive experience and contributes to overall sales growth.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in electrical products and sustainable energy solutions, customer-centric, and capable of managing multiple customer touchpoints—before, during, and after the sale. A confident communicator with a friendly demeanor, you should be able to make customers feel welcome while also helping them make the best buying decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Engage customers with the goal of understanding their project or product needs and recommending the most suitable solutions.

Drive sales by building relationships and following a structured sales process to meet or exceed monthly targets.

Educate customers on product functionality, services available (including installation and delivery), and value-added solutions.

Support customers through the entire purchasing journey—before, during, and after the sale—ensuring a seamless experience.

Maintain a fully stocked and visually appealing store, ensuring cleanliness, accurate pricing, and product availability.

Participate in department commercial action plans, including promotional events, new product launches, and seasonal campaigns.

Liaise with merchandisers and the Department Manager to ensure customer preferences are reflected in stock selections.

Stay informed about market trends and competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities.

Follow up on leads, use multiple sales channels (e.g., email, phone, WhatsApp), and ensure prompt customer communication.

Offer personalized product bundles and service options for larger projects or long-term clients.
Qualifications and Experience Required

Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification is essential.

Proven sales experience, ideally within a hardware or electrical retail environment.

Hands-on knowledge of electrical products and a solid understanding of sustainable energy solutions.

Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Must be customer-oriented, with a friendly, confident, and approachable personality.

Good problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.

Understanding of pricing methodologies and how to offer competitive solutions.

Proficient in managing sales using multiple platforms (in-store, phone, email, and WhatsApp).
