Role Overview:
DSV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager: Operations, Road Logistics to lead its Secure Division at the Plumbago facility in Kempton Park. This strategic role is focused on optimizing logistics and warehousing operations, ensuring budgetary discipline, driving service excellence, and fostering strong team leadership. You will play a pivotal role in aligning the division’s operations with DSV’s broader business strategy while managing client relationships, labor practices, and new project implementation across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead operational efficiency initiatives aligned with company strategy.

• Oversee client commitments and ensure service excellence through optimal logistics execution.

• Manage costs, productivity, and compliance to internal controls and key performance indicators.

• Foster strong collaboration across shared service functions.

• Drive financial performance by meeting bottom-line budget commitments.

• Identify risks and opportunities within the business environment.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws (LRA, BCEA) and manage IR-related matters.

• Lead national project implementation and operations scalability.

• Maintain customer satisfaction by meeting SLAs in collections and deliveries.

• Drive performance development, succession planning, and team motivation.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Requirements:

• Matric (Essential)

• Diploma or Degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management/Administration (Essential)

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in operations and logistics management, including warehousing and transport.

• At least 5 years’ experience handling IR issues, customer relationship management, and courier operations.

• 3 years’ experience in budgeting, financial control, and reporting.

• National project management experience (preferred).

Technical Proficiency:

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience in operations software and systems is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable own vehicle

• Willingness and flexibility to travel within South Africa as needed

• Proven leadership and people management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication

• Self-motivated, assertive, and results-driven

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
