Job Overview:

PG Group, a leader in the automotive glass industry, is seeking a Market Analyst to join our dynamic team. Based in Port Elizabeth, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to PG Group’s success by providing analytical support for the marketing division. The Market Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data, identifying trends, and ensuring effective decision-making at the corporate level. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Trend Identification:

  • Collect and analyze data to identify market trends, sales patterns, and other relevant information to support corporate decision-making.

  • Compare forecasts with customer contracts, previous forecasts, and sales orders to ensure future growth and sustainability.

  • Extract and process data from systems such as SAP to support marketing and supply chain functions.

• Pricing & Market Information:

  • Develop and maintain price lists by extracting data from SAP, calculating prices within specified parameters, and ensuring timely invoicing.

  • Ensure accurate communication of price increases, utilizing weighted averages for export and ARG, to maintain market sustainability.

  • Collate price lists for NPD and provide feedback to customers to ensure profitability.

• Forecasting & Reporting:

  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports for the Supply Chain Manager and Financial Team, analyzing market trends and identifying deviations.

  • Produce weekly and monthly stock reports from SAP to monitor stock levels and highlight any potential issues.

• Stakeholder Communication:

  • Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

  • Respond to ad hoc enquiries regarding pricing, stock availability, and delivery times, providing accurate and timely information.

• System Maintenance:

  • Ensure that the SAP system is maintained accurately, with no price discrepancies, and orders are processed on time.

  • Support the continuous improvement of internal processes by maintaining effective data systems and optimizing the use of SAP.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Commerce or a related field.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and trend identification.

  • Strong numeracy skills for handling large datasets and performing calculations accurately.

  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels to effectively share information and insights with stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales and marketing environment, with a focus on data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

• Experience working with SAP and other data analysis tools is advantageous.
