Role Overview: Warehouse Manager (Delmas)

AFGRI is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee and manage the operations and maintenance of the retail store environment in Delmas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of warehouse operations, including stock control, sales management, personnel management, and administration. The role requires strong leadership skills, a good understanding of the retail environment, and the ability to manage multiple functions within the warehouse.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Personnel Management and Development

  • Supervise, develop, and manage a team of warehouse staff.

  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal team performance.

  • Foster a positive work environment and resolve any personnel issues promptly.

2. Budget and Financial Management

  • Manage the warehouse budget efficiently.

  • Ensure that operational costs are controlled while maintaining profitability.

  • Monitor and report on budget performance regularly.

3. Sales Management

  • Oversee the sales activities within the warehouse.

  • Ensure that sales targets are met and work towards increasing sales.

  • Develop strategies to improve warehouse sales and customer service.

4. Stock Control

  • Implement and manage stock control systems to ensure optimal inventory levels.

  • Oversee the receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods.

  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.

5. General Administration

  • Handle all administrative duties related to warehouse operations.

  • Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation in compliance with company policies.

  • Prepare reports and assist with decision-making processes.


Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.

  • 2 years of relevant experience in a store or warehouse environment.

  • 1 year of supervisory experience is advantageous.

Technical Knowledge & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of AFGRI Retail’s product range.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and other job-related software.

  • POS knowledge and experience with SAP systems.

  • A valid Code 08 driver’s license.
