Job Overview
The HR Officer will be a key partner in managing the Talent Sourcing and Employee Development process. This role will assist in recruitment, selection, onboarding, and administration processes. The officer will collaborate closely with both the HR Manager and Operational Line Managers to ensure effective human resources management within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Selection
✔️ Draft and update Job Descriptions and Job Specifications.
✔️ Create and execute multi-channel sourcing strategies to identify qualified candidates.
✔️ Conduct candidate screenings via telephonic interviews, Teams interviews, or in-person interviews.
✔️ Assess candidates using competency-based interview questions and other techniques.
✔️ Develop and maintain talent pools and conduct continuous improvement strategies for recruitment.
✔️ Manage candidate relationships and provide timely feedback.
✔️ Oversee employee onboarding, including document and offer management.
HR Analysis, Reporting & Administration
✔️ Compile employee files and assist with employee benefits administration.
✔️ Provide detailed reports and metrics for HR analysis and decision-making.
✔️ Update talent pipelines and manage HR data accurately.
Governance & Risk Mitigation
✔️ Ensure compliance with employment equity and other regulatory requirements.
✔️ Collaborate with stakeholders to manage employee wellbeing, development, and wellness programs.
✔️ Drive transformation initiatives and monitor the performance and integration of new hires.
HR Data Analytics and Insights
✔️ Provide insights from people and payroll data to identify efficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
✔️ Assist with the development of HR reporting tools and enhance employee engagement programs.
Employee Compliance & Policy
✔️ Draft and maintain HR policies and SOPs.
✔️ Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, including the POPI Act.
✔️ Minimize EE risks and monitor candidate intake processes for compliance with EE objectives.
Collaboration & Self-Management
✔️ Work effectively across departments to build a culture of respect and understanding.
✔️ Plan, prioritize, and maintain high-quality standards across HR functions.
✔️ Demonstrate flexibility in managing competing tasks and meeting business needs.
Minimum Requirements
✅ Grade 12 or equivalent.
✅ Tertiary qualification in Human Resources (BCom, Industrial Relations, or similar).
✅ 2-3 years’ experience in a similar HRBP or HR Officer role.
✅ Experience in call centre and medical insurance environments is advantageous.
✅ Strong administrative and organisational skills.
✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
