Overview
Glencore is looking for a Tailings Assurance Coordinator to join their Group Internal Audit and Assurance (GIAA) team and support Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) catastrophic hazard campaign audits. The role will report to the Head of Assurance Planning, Reporting, and Operations and will assist the Tailings Audit and Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Support for HSEC Audits: Provide technical and administrative assistance for HSEC catastrophic hazard campaign audits.
- Independent Tailings Review Board (ITRB): Organize ITRB meetings, track meeting readiness, manage document uploads, take minutes, and update tracking systems.
- Workbooks & Reporting: Track, quality control, and process Tailings and Dams Assurance Workbooks.
- Evidence & Audit Tracking: Track GISTM Disclosure Factsheets and uploaded evidence, as well as audit reports and corrective actions.
- System Maintenance: Maintain action tracking systems and tailings databases, including data entry tasks.
- Methodology Integration: Execute the new campaign audit methodology, conduct data analytics, and risk assessments.
- Administrative Support: Handle general and ad-hoc administrative duties related to tailings assurance.

Minimum Requirements
- Education: Higher, Advanced, or Diploma in Civil, Geotechnical, or a relevant discipline (minimum NQF level 6 qualification).
- Experience: At least 2 years in a similar role within the civil, geotechnical, or mining industry.
- Languages: Fluency in English (corporate language); additional languages like French, Spanish, Russian, and/or German are advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SharePoint, and DocuSign.
- Competencies: High attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
