Overview
Anglo American Platinum is seeking a Drill Rig Operator OC to be part of our dynamic team at the Mogalakwena Complex in Mokopane, South Africa. In this pivotal role, you will ensure high productivity by operating drill rigs effectively, supporting maintenance activities, and minimizing operating costs. You will work closely with the Drill Foreman to ensure the safe and efficient execution of drilling tasks, upholding best practices, operational standards, and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drilling rigs and equipment to instructions, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest quality standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of drill rigs, ensuring they are maintained and ready for use according to the set schedule.
- Report any unexpected technical issues and assist with higher-level technical support as required.
- Compile accurate shift reports and report task completion to the Drill Foreman.
- Assist with drill moves and cable works, ensuring equipment is relocated efficiently.
- Ensure safety standards are followed and report any safety-related grievances or issues.
- Promote safety awareness, encouraging the team to adhere to work procedures and identifying unsafe practices.
- Communicate operational process issues to the appropriate team members to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- Valid Drill Rig Operator License
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in drilling operations with relevant certificates of competence for drill rigs used in the operation.
- Strong understanding of drilling safety standards and operational best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and maintain productivity while adhering to safety regulations.
