Job Overview
G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leader in integrated cash management, is hiring a Cash Centre Teller for their Mthatha branch. This role is responsible for counting, balancing, and reconciling cash, ensuring all processing is accurate and in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Distribution & Management
- Manage distribution of cash bags and containers across areas.
- Count, balance, and reconcile customer cash following processing procedures.
- Ensure accurate receipting and processing of bags and containers.
- Maintain timely processing of customer deposits and coin/cash orders.
- Identify cash discrepancies and report to Supervisor for correction.
Operations & Compliance
- Operate high-speed equipment for cash processing.
- Track and record deposits in internal systems.
- Proactively report discrepancies to prevent customer impact.
- Cross-train in multiple processes to support Cash Processing services.
Sorting & Verifying Cash
- Verify bulk cash and coin from banks and customers.
- Balance transaction totals and ensure accurate totals for bulk funds.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Complete compliance training and adhere to cash handling procedures.
- Participate in safety forums and report all incidents.
- Wear protective clothing and follow safety policies.
Ideal Candidate
Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting
- 1–3 years relevant teller experience preferred
- Knowledge of financial principles
- Computer literacy
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to lift and move heavy containers/trolleys
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends
